Sagan om glas is an installation I created in 2024. It is based on archival footage from the Glass Archive in Växjö, to which I was granted access. I transformed the original material into a slow-motion video work, altering both the moving image and the sound.
The narrative recounts the origins and discovery of glass, creating an enchanting, almost hypnotic experience for the audience. At the same time, it highlights the cultural significance of glass and the message it carries.
A blown glass object is positioned on a slowly rotating turntable in front of the projector beam, allowing the projected light to pass through the material and create subtle variations in reflection and refraction.
