“Så skimrande II”
This is one out of two installations in the exhibition “Solglimt” in Uppsala – Konstfrämjandet Uppland, September 2024.
“Så skimrande I” and “Så skimrande II” are two installations I produced in September 2024. Eight artists were invited by the Art Promotion Association of Uppland (Konstfrämjandet) to engage with works by former psychiatric patients from the historic Ulleråker Mental Hospital in Uppsala.
Så skimrande II, presented outdoors in the fountain, interprets both paintings and mosaics, creating a dialogue between my work and the historical pieces. Most of the original works were displayed anonymously due to confidentiality, emphasizing both their aesthetic value and the sensitive context of their creation.
The work contains mannequins, martini glasses from Ikea with the barcode still underneath, red mosaic inside the glass and on the feet of the sculptures.
The fountain “Solglimt” is created 1937 by Astri Taube- Bergman, Evert Taube’s wife.
